Meet the Board - 2009/2010

Madeline Dewey - President
Madeline is focusing on corporate strategy in the healthcare and high-tech sectors at UCLA Anderson. As President of the Women’s Business Connection, she serves as the WBC representative to the Anderson Student Association (ASA) Council. She also guides key communications from the WBC to the Anderson community and leads the WBC Board in developing events and opportunities for women on campus. Madeline is also the ASA Admissions representative for the student body and is Co-President of the Anderson Running and Triathlon Club. Prior to Anderson, Madeline was a market research consultant and Lieberman Research Worldwide. She is proud to be a double bruin, graduating from UCLA with a double major in Economics and Sociology. In her free time, Madeline also enjoys painting/drawing, yoga, dancing, running and anything outdoors.
Christina Peng - Vice President of Finance
Christina is focusing on marketing and entrepreneurship at UCLA Anderson. As Vice President of Finance for the Women's Business Connection, she manages the WBC budget, membership, listserv and financial coordination with other clubs for co-sponsored events. Christina is also an Owner/Manager of the Vistage-on-Campus program (Entrepreneur Association) and co-coordinates the newly formed Anderson Dancers club on campus. She has also served as a VP for Net Impact. Prior to Anderson, Christina was a consultant at The Bridgespan Group. Before that, she worked in the Investment Management division of Goldman Sachs. Christina graduated from Duke University, with a B.S. in Economics, and a minor in both Math and Religion.
Christie Wahng - Vice President of Corporate Relations
Christie is focusing on real estate finance at UCLA Anderson. As Vice President of Corporate Relations, she fosters and manages the WBC’s relationships with companies both in the Los Angeles area and beyond. She is also involved with the Anderson Real Estate Association (AREA), the Entrepreneur Association (EA), and Net Impact. This year she will also lead the Real Estate ACT team. Prior to business school, Christie worked as a project manager at Richmond American Homes in Northern California. Christie graduated from the University of California, Berkley with a B.A. in Architecture and a minor in City Planning.
Annette Blum - Co-Vice President of Alumnae Outreach and Communication
During her time at UCLA Anderson Annette is focusing on Marketing and the High Tech Industry. As Co-Vice President of Alumnae Outreach and Communication of the Women's Business Connection for 2009-2010, she is responsible for establishing a Women's Mentorship program, building strong relationships with alumnae and improving communication vehicles and knowledge transfer. Annette also serves as an ACT Coach, the C4C Vice President in charge of Ski Trip and as Wine Club President. Prior to business school, Annette worked as the Audience Development Manager at ForbesAutos and ForbesTraveler.com where her responsibilities included aspects of online business development, marketing and relationship management. Annette spent her summer at Hewlett-Packard in Palo Alto where she created a social networking marketing strategy for personal computers and printers. Annette graduated from Emory University in 2001 and enjoys playing outside, non-school related reading and cooking in her free time.
Katie Malone - Co-Vice President of Alumnae Outreach and Communication
Katie is concentrating on marketing and social entrepreneurship at UCLA Anderson. As Co-Vice President of Alumnae Outreach and Communication of the Women's Business Connection for 2009-2010, she is responsible for establishing a Women’s Mentorship program, building relationships with alumnae and improving communication vehicles and knowledge transfer. Katie is also Vice President of Volunteer Outreach for Challenge for Charity. Prior to business school, Katie was a creative executive at Onda Entertainment where she helped to develop and produce several feature films, including Terminator Salvation and Oliver Stone’s W. Katie graduated from Dartmouth College in 1998 with a B.A. in Film Studies and enjoys hosting dinner parties, going on road trips and playing board games in her free time.
Audrey Anhood - VP of Professional Services
Audrey Anhood serves as the VP of Professional Services for the Women's Business Connection. She is responsible for organizing the etiquette dinner, financial workshops, and other events designed to improve the leadership, management and business skills of MBA students. In addition to learning about successful women in the workplace, Audrey is focusing her MBA on Entrepreneurship, Operations and Strategy. Prior to Anderson, Audrey worked as the Director of Operations and Human Resources for a design, manufacturing and distribution firm, where she established organizational best practices, managed international clientele, and partnered with overseas factories to streamline operational processes. Audrey earned a BA in International Relations from Brown University. She spends her free time enjoying the outdoors, reading and socializing with friends.
Allison Slapnicka - Vice President of Social
Allison is focusing on strategy and finance at UCLA Anderson. As Vice President of Social for the Women’s Business Connection, Allison is in charge of planning quarterly events for the members to network while enjoying themselves. Allison is also a director in the Management Consulting Association, organizing the Management Consulting Association's Fall and Winter Career nights, and a mentor for the Riordan Scholars Program. Before coming to UCLA Anderson, Allison worked as an associate in the Assurance & Advisory Business Services practice at Ernst & Young in New York. Over the summer, Allison worked in management consulting as a summer associate for PricewaterhouseCoopers’ Advisory Practice in Los Angeles. Allison was born in South Africa and has since lived in over ten cities globally. She graduated from the University of Southern California with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting. During her free time, she enjoys travelling, running and wine tasting.
Lea Oliver - Vice President of Academic Outreach
During her time at UCLA Anderson, Lea is focusing on Strategy and Nonprofit Management. As Vice President of Academic Outreach of the Women's Business Connection for 2009-2010, Lea is responsible for communicating with female applicants and organizing outreach events. Lea also serves as Executive Vice President of Net Impact after having been the Director of the Nonprofit Haskamp Fund and working at Amnesty International throughout the year. Prior to business school, Lea studied Business-Economics and Spanish at UCSB. Upon graduating, she worked at Deutsch Inc., an advertising agency in New York City. Outside of school Lea enjoys playing soccer, taking pictures, and traveling.
Han Li - Vice President of Community Service
During her time at UCLA Anderson, Han is concentrating on strategy and consulting. As Vice President of Community Service of the Women’s Business Connection for 2009-2010, Han is responsible for coordinating community service activities and charitable events related to women issues and establishing a stronger Anderson presence in the local community. In addition to the WBC, Han is involved in the Vistage Program and serves as an ACT Coach, the ASA Educational Improvement Chair and Co-VP of Internal for SOMA. Prior to Anderson, Han was a Manager at Deloitte where she specialized in the Aerospace and Defense and consumer business industries. On her free time, Han enjoys running, Pilates, socializing, going to the beach, watching movies and drinking wine.
